DESCRIPTION

The Incline Bar Screen (IBFS) is used for `fine screening’ where the removal of waste material from 5mm up to 12mm in size is required in water  and wastewater treatment.

The screenings are collected against a taper bar screenfield and the waste is removed by means of a multiple rake system.  The rakes pass over the screenfield and in doing so remove the entrapped screenings waste which is caught between the taper bar screenfield.  The screenings waste is then carried by the dual chain driven rake system up the debris plate and is discharged at the top back end of the screen via the scraper system, and down the discharge chute for further processing.

The screens are fitted with a single motor-gearbox drive mechanism.

As an electrical standard the screens are timer based or as an additional option the screen drive can be fitted with a differential level system, so that screens can be set to determine the frequency at which the rakes pass over the screenfield.

Under normal operating conditions the controller (be it a PLC or differential level controller) ensures that the screen is operated intermittently, based on timers set for raking and standing.

Due to minimal maintenance, great reliability and ease of operation, this screen is extremely popular in water plants wherever there is a diminutive allowance for technical operators. The sizing of this screen is calculated to suit max Peak Wet Weather Flow.

Screening waste discharge is processed to suit further waste removal systems, namely conveyors, screw compactors or direct discharge into waste bins.
