The first operation in wastewater treatment plant is screening, where coarse and fine solids are screened and removed from the effluent. S.A.M.E. MANUFACTURING manufactures screening equipment to suit different applications and capabilities.
Our design team has collaborated with our international partners, to produce designs for several different types/styles of mechanical screens which we manufacture/supply to Southern Africa. These screens are manufactured to suit new and existing plants.
FRONT RAKE SCREEN
The mechanical Front Rake Screen is intended to remove a large percentage of screenings in the waste water system. The screenings are collected against the screen field which is designed and manufactured with a series of vertical bars which are tapered from the inlet side to the back of the screen to allow increased wastewater flow capacity. This screen is ideally suited for direct fine screening (0,5 – 12mm) in a head of works system thus by-passing the financial implication of a coarse screen system.
The screened waste is then removed by the multiple rake system. Screenings are carried by the rakes up the debris plate and are discharged at the rear of the screen through the discharge chute for further processing.
